In Serum, the native-mode (default) playback of oscillators operates with an ultra high-precision resampling, yielding an astonishingly inaudible signal-to-noise (for instance, -150 dB on a sawtooth played at 1 Khz at 44100)! This requires a lot of calculations, so Serum’s oscillator playback has been aggressively optimized using SSE2 instructions to allow for this high-quality playback without taxing your CPU any more than the typical (decent quality) soft synth already does.
Many popular wavetable synthesizers are astonishingly bad at suppressing artifacts - even on a high-quality setting some create artifacts as high as -36 dB to -60 dB (level difference between fundamental on artifacts) which is well audible, and furthermore often dampening the highest wanted audible frequencies in the process, to try and suppress this unwanted sound.
Artifacts mean that you are (perhaps unknowingly) crowding your mix with unwanted tones / frequencies. Without considerable care and a whole lot of number crunching, this process will create audible artifacts. It's bullshit.Playback of wavetables requires digital resampling to play different frequencies. I can't even monitor the track I have to export it listen to it tweak it export it again tweak it export it again for hours. I spent the last 7 hours watching it scan for four and I was able to work for 3 but because this bloatware is such a memory thief. It's scanning my samples folder now for the 110th time in the last 7 hours. I screenshotted your post because I needed to find people going through the same issue so I don't think I'm crazy ImageLine DOES NOT want to fix this issue at all If you wonder why it stopped scanning it's because you closed the menu of that folder once you open it you will be in scanning purgatory forever

8 years of constantly contacting ImageLine. I used to enjoy this program until it started doing this It's a permanent form of Ransomware that ImageLine purposely baked into this huge useless bloatware virus called FLStudio.
